British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Started Amharic, Oromia and Tigrigna Programs

British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), in its effort to expand its reach to countries where the media is muzzled, has started broadcasting to Ethiopia in Amharic, Oromia and Tigrigna.

BBC, in its announcement, indicated the broadcast is already being done through the Internet and Facebook. In continuing, the broadcast in the three languages will resume at the end of this month. The broadcast will last about 15 minutes each for each language along with another 5 minutes English lessons.

The world renowned broadcasting service will broadcast in the three languages to Ethiopia and Eritrea focusing on current news, encouragements on innovations, entertainment, science and technology.  The corporation will be passing all information free of bias and the employees will be governed with ethics of impartiality and will inform countries like Ethiopia who are not able to get unbiased information due to lack of freedom of press.
